Golf Safari
Rovos Rail has designed two* delightful nine-day safaris to entertain the most discerning player with optional excursions for non-playing guests at all venues. The Golf Safari begins in Pretoria and travels west to Sun City in the hills of the Pilanesberg for a day at this renowned facility including a game drive for non-golfers. In the foothills of the imposing Drakensberg Mountains, 18 holes await at the Champagne Sports Resort with a guided tour of the battlefields a further highlight for non-golfers. Enjoy a game at Durban Country Club or tour the city. Then it’s on to Zululand for game viewing at Hluhluwe before heading to Swaziland. Tee off at Royal Swazi or enjoy a game drive at Mkhaya and a visit to Ngwenya Glass and Guava Gallery. Golfers then play the challenging Leopard Creek course while non-golfers enjoy a game drive in the world-famous Kruger Park, after which this memorable journey ends in Pretoria.

Day1
10h00 Depart Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria and travel to Koster for overnight stop. Day at leisure on the train. (Breakfast 07h00-10h00 • Lunch 13h00 • Tea 16h30 • Dinner 19h30)

Day2
Golfers: 09h00 Tee off at Lost City or Gary Player Country Club.
Non-golfers: 07h00 Game drive in Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Explore the Lost City followed by lunch at the club.
19h30 Dinner on board en route to Heidelberg.

Day3
All meals enjoyed on board en route to Estcourt via Ladysmith. Day at leisure on the train.

Day4
Golfers: 09h00 Tee off at Champagne Sports Resort.
Non-golfers: 09h00 Enjoy a professional tour of the battlefields with lunch at Spionkop Lodge followed by shopping. Depart for Durban.

Day5
Golfers: 07h30 Tee off at Durban Country Club.
Non-golfers: 09h00 Disembark for a city tour of Durban followed by lunch with the golfers at the Durban Country Club.

Day6
06h00 Game drive in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve.
11h00 Brunch as the train departs for Mpaka, Swaziland.

Day7
Golfers: 07h30 Tee off at the Royal Swazi Sun.
Non-golfers: 08h00 Game drive in Mkhaya Reserve. Visit Ngwenya Glass with lunch at Guava Gallery and shopping.
18h00 The train departs for Malelane in South Africa.

Day8
Golfers: 08h00 Tee off at Leopard Creek Golf Estate on the Crocodile River.
Non-golfers: 08h00 Game drive in the Kruger Park followed by lunch at Buhala Lodge and curio shopping.
19h30 Enjoy dinner on board as the train travels to Witbank for the overnight stop.

Day9
07h00 Enjoy breakfast as the train departs for Pretoria.
10h00 Arrive at journey’s end at Rovos Rail Station.
